An Iydeal Exhibition

Something for the weekend # 05

Last weekend little m and I braved the wind and rain to in order to visit Lomokev’s “The Daily Swim” exhibition, images of the morning swimmers were aptly hung next to the pier, outside the sea swimmers hq. The photographs take you on a journey through the year and change of seasons, beginning with a lonesome swimmer on a snowy beach heading towards the sea and contrast through to one of my favorite warming shots, of a ladies pretty sun kissed feet in the blue summer sea.

As an outsider the sea swimming club seems somewhat of a cult. Watching my husband get up at 06:40 on a January morning in order to freeze himself in the sea is bonkers but these people are really dedicated and swear by what they do, this show gives you a glimpse into their crazy world.

And so the show continues, if you missed the outside viewing of the exhibition at the “swimming arch” then fear not because it is running until November 14th, Monday to Saturday 09.30 – 17.30 and Sundays 10.00 – 17.30 at the Iydea Café (hence the title, I think I’ve got a pun problem), 17 Kensington Gardens, Brighton, BN1 4AL. It is well worth a visit…
