Calling all Chatter Box’s
Inspiration Monday # 4
A long time ago, when I was a little girl at school, there was a craze of making hand held, folded paper, fortune tellers, or as i recently found out “Chatterboxes”. You would write down different things that get folded away and then ask somebody to read their way through them whilst you manipulate the game with your thumbs and first fingers. You start at the top and count your way to the fortune at the bottom often finding out that you are somebody’s “best friend” or “a wally”…
I was wondering what creations the good followers of this Rock Cakes blog can come up with, so as an attempt to add a bit of creativity to your Monday morning I am asking you to send me a mini chatterbox fortune teller, it no doubt will be somewhat better than mine! I will feature each one on this blog as and when they arrive at hq, if yours is amazing then I will also send you a little something to say thank you. Please make sure that you put your name and address as well as a website, flickr account or blog address that you would like me to link to in the envelope (I wont publish anybody’s snail-mail address, so don’t worry).
All you need to do now is follow the instructions and images below and see what you can come up with, I will be super excited to receive any so please don’t be shy…
1 – Take a square piece of paper, mine was 15cm square but it can be bigger or smaller.
2 – Fold the square in half both ways so that you have a centre point to work to.
3 – Open the square out and fold each corner to the centre.
4 – Turn the paper over and again fold each corner to the centre.
5 – Fold the side with eight triangles together and open up the four on the other side.
6 – Write/draw your subjects and your fortunes and test it on a friend…
7 – Package him up and post to the address at the bottom.
