Platforming – Kirstin Stride
After running ‘Handmade’ a not for profit Brighton gallery for local artists and makers, Kirstin Stride has taken time out to concentrate on her own work. She began working and experimenting with shrink plastic developing her own style and recognisable jewellery.
Kirstin has a massive love for nature and her main subject for the platform display are birds. From king fishers to owls each one is completely hand drawn with in depth detail and pencil crayoned colours, they are then varnished to add protection and a little shine.
The display is looking fab with the hitchcock ‘birds’ reference, each piece is carefully pinned to a hand stamped tag and hanging from thread lines.
Platform is running at the fishing quarter gallery on Brighton seafront until September 3rd or you can check out Kirstin’s Website or Etsy Shop.…
