Rock Cakes on the 2014 Festive Road

It did enter my head to slow down a little more than on previous years in the run up to Christmas, it can be super full on! Then I thought no, that’s boring, folks need their Rock Cakes bling to make their celebrations complete. The dates below are your chance to see and try on the jewellery that I make, meet me, ask questions and really get a feel for my work. And so this is where you will find me playing shop…

Sunday 16th November
Brighton Etsy Christmas Market
The Open Market. Marshalls Row, London Road, Brighton. BN1 4JU
The vibrant BtnEtsy Team sellers will be taking over the market for one day only, it’s going to be a lively one. There will be over 40 local designer makers peddling their wares and giggling a lot no doubt.

Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th November
Brighton Craftaganza
Fabrica. Duke St, Brighton, BN1 1AG
Craftaganza is the Brighton craft fair that is full of heart and soul. The makers are again well vetted so expect variety and quality in the locally designed and produced products. The air will be filled with Christmas music, the smell of mulled wine and the sound of happy crafters. There is a café with mince pies and sausage rolls and a warm atmosphere in which to find special gifts – even if every other one is for yourself…

Saturday 6th December
Makers Boutique
Unitarian Church. New Road, Brighton. BN1 1UF
This is when things get serious, you’ve eaten six of your festive shaped advent chocs and you’ve yet to make a dent in that pressie list. Makers Boutique offer a wide range of products to suit all tastes. You could probably tick off everybody left on that list and get good value for your coins. You’d still have plenty of time to cross the road to the Wagon and Horses for a cheeky mulled cider – job done!

Saturday 13th December
Crafty Fox Peckham
Bussey Building, 133 Rye Lane, London. SE15 4ST
Yay back to London! Possibly the best named craft fair, Crafty Fox is renowned for having quality makers and is ever popular, again super happy to have been accepted. By this time I expect to be slightly crazy, along with my Sarah Squared, pie obsessed, partner in crime Sarah Edmonds. Expect interesting products, a beautiful venue and makers who are a little worn out but still excitedly smiling…

I hope that you can make it along to at least one of the fairs, they really do put you in the Christmas spirit and you actually meet the people who made what you buy. It adds story and meaning to an object, you are sure to find special and original gifts.

I have been working on a collaboration entitled Sarah Squared, with the talented illustrator that is Sarah Edmonds, our work will be launching in November. It will be available, along with Sarah E’s personal work, at all of the above fairs for more info check out our blog.
