Making Space

My HQ is small.
The third bedroom in my house.

In it there are two workspaces.
One screen-based.
Order packing. 2D play.
The other - a making space. A 3D world.

I favour one over the other.
And it’s not the 3D bench.

Maybe it’s the screen.
Easier dopamine.
Maybe it’s the window - more light, more distractions.
Maybe it’s that making asks more of me.
And so I avoid it, without even noticing.

But I want to fall back in love with making.
Grow my skills.
Close the screen more often.

Today is empty. A rare thing.
It’s a chance to rethink the HQ.
To shape the space around the work I want to do.

Because a change in environment
Shifts how I feel.
And a shift in feeling
Changes what I do.

That’s the mission today.
To tidy with purpose.
To let space do its quiet work.

Do you ever use tidying as a tool for change?
