No Doubt. It’s Gotta Be André 3000.
Jesus, this man knows how to do his Thing.
One of the most influential, best-selling hip-hop artists of all time - one half of the legendary OutKast - turned soulful, wandering flute guy.
And I’m pretty sure this man does not give a fuck.
Despite being an icon in the world of hip-hop, he stays grounded. Quiet. Out of the limelight.
There’s a YouTube interview where he’s chilling at his local laundrette, playing his flute while his clothes spin in the machine. It’s not a performance - just him being present. He says it’s how he connects with real people. People who don’t recognise him. People who don’t care about the fame.
He’s inconspicuous - well, sort of. Maybe a little too cool to truly go unnoticed.
Because let’s be honest - he is cool as fuck.
A living legend.
And if that isn’t enough, just check the title of the tracks on his solo album, New Blue Sun:
"I Swear, I Really Wanted to Make a 'Rap' Album but This Is Literally the Way the Wind Blew Me This Time."
That right there is freedom. There’s a lot to be said for doing your Thing. Really. Or at least thinking… What’s Your Thing? You know. Doing what you were born to do.
Taking a look might just be the first step towards doing it. Like this guy.
*Warning - this video might make you want some new glasses, dungarees and a beanie hat - oh and a flute...*
